Hello hello ! Today I would like to talk to you about Aura haircare, a brand specialised in personalized haircare and where you can add pigments in your conditioner and shampoo !

First I have to say, the website is super pretty ! Plus, it's purple (AKA my favourite colour), so I'm all for it !
As it's a personalised haircare brand you obviously have a questionnaire to answer, with your age range, how you identify yourself, your hair type, hair lenght, hair thickness, how much scalp you can see, scalp sensitivity... All those things allowing to make the perfect "blend" for you !
Then you arrive at the hair goals selection, and you can choose up to 3 of them. The system will recommend you some, according to your answers to the questionnaire.
Then you arrive at the fun part, aka the pigments ! You have a pretty impressive range to choose from classic shades and fantasy shades !
You can also choose a scent, I went for Sparkling Essence as it was mentioned that it pairs well with the hair scalp goal. Sparkling Essence is described to be with cool mint, lotus and musk.

I received my order in 6 working days from the USA, which is not bad ! Plus there was the Bank Holiday. So for me, the delivery time is a big YES.
First impression, the products smells divine ! In my opinion it's always a bit hard to choose a scent on internet, so I just trusted my intuition and my taste. And I did well !
The packaging of the product is simple and elegant. You can choose to add pumps on your order free of charge, and you can unselect the option for the next one, which is great !
I loved the fact that the mask can be used in 2 ways, depending of if you want a rich colour or a more subtle one (I'm going for the rich one).
You can also see that the products are Vegan, cruelty free approved by Leaping Bunny, and paraben free.
So, now I guess it's time to use the products !
I started with the hair masque as it's recommended to use it on clean, dry hair. I washed my hair the day before (with my usual haircare routine), so it was the perfect timing !
I have naturally dark hair, like, black. So the colour should be subtle, according to the website.
The application is easy, there are two pairs of reusable gloves provided. You can wash them after use.
I didn't put enough product on my hair on the first application, so obviously I had no result.
On a mask side though, I liked it on the first use ! Yes, I voluntarily say on the first use, keep reading to know why.
A few days later I tried the shampoo and conditioner, and that's from where things went bad. After 2 wash (so 2 applications of shampoo and conditioner and 3 of hair masque) at a rate of 1 wash per week, my hair went super greasy. I don't know why, but I was really disappointed in that.
Plus, the conditioner and hair masque left red stains on my bathroom tiles that are impossible to wash off, even with a bleach !
For the colour, I didn't really had one. My hair were slightly more brown-ish on artificial light, but nothing really remarkable. This said, I really think this is due to my black hair. You can find some amazing hair transformations on the Instagram of the brand !
I tried the shampoo alone with the rest of my usual haircare routine just in case, and I had the same problem. Greasy hair 1 day after wash.
I contacted the customer service 1 month after my order has been sent (so approximately 3 weeks after reception) and here is their reply:
I really appreciated the fact they offered me a credit so I can be able to re order a routine for free and the hair goals recommendation. I just changed the Volumise hair goal by the Repair one, as my hair has enough volume at is it ! I also changed the pigments for purple and the scent for Moonlight Stroll which has green apple, blackberry and sandalwood.
And here we go again for another test !

Honestly, I wish I could show you pictures of the before/after but I have none, simply because there is absolutely no freaking differences (except that my hair are still greasy, but I don't think you want to see me rocking the Snape look) !
* Would I recommend Aura haircare ? *
As you guessed I'm absolutely not convinced and I'm gonna give my products to a friend, but I checked some customers reviews and the products are really good for them.
So, I would say try them if you have light hair or if you want to bleach your hair before starting the routine !
